  3. Approach Bach Flower remedies with skepticism. Bach Flower remedies have never been demonstrated to have an effect beyond placebo.

    From Wiki:
“Effectiveness- A recent database review of randomized trials concluded:
The hypothesis that flower remedies are associated with effects beyond a placebo response is not supported by data from rigorous clinical trials.[3]

All randomized double-blind studies, whether finding for or against the remedies, have suffered from small cohort sizes but the studies using the best methodology were the ones that found no effect over placebo.[21][22]

The most likely means of action for flower remedies is as placebos, enhanced by introspection on the patient’s emotional state, or simply being listened to by the practitioner. The act of selecting and taking a remedy may act as a calming ritual.[3]”

A placebo treatment is probably not the ideal treatment for your condition. Your doctor can advise the most effective evidence based options for anxiety, properly monitor you and manage your treatment.

Be careful of those claiming massive success rates when they do not or cannot provide any evidence to support the claim. The claim remains anecdotal only, and without proper controls in place it is fallacious to make such an assertion. Where your, or your loved ones health is concerned, be skeptical of pseudoscience and always ask to see the data.

  4. Gary Y’s comments were idiotic. Try for yourself and then decide. There is no possibility of harm to any degree.

In a 1998 report from the US government’s Office of Technology and Assessment, they stated that “80-90% of all standard medical practices are not proven safe nor effective.”

Next time someone like Gary Y tries to “warn you,” ask the question: COMPARED TO WHAT??
