Have you ever had a reflexology treatment and what do you think of reflexology?

I met a reflexologist many years ago and received treatments, and also became a massage therapist and gave treatments to others and continue to give treatments to myself (both hands and feet).
I have had reflexologists tell me that they had people with medical conditions which were considered hopeless by doctors, and then the reflexology treatments healed them.

Have you ever received a reflexology treatment? If so, what do you think of it? Do you believe it works?

  1. >>Have you ever received a reflexology treatment? If so, what do you think of it? Do you believe it works?<< yes. anytime the circulation can be improved there are benefits. reflexology is important because it affects that part of the body furthest from the heart, the feet. it also feels wonderful and is very relaxing.

  2. I have never had reflexology but both my parents have. My father just had some cancer treatment at a hospital in the UK and they have a reflexologist come round the ward once a week and give patients very light reflexology treatments. I don’t know if it works, but my parents both say that it makes them feel better.

  3. I believe that reflexology does work and that it is a great alternative to conventional treatment. I have had it done several times for different reasons and it does help. The key is consistancy. It is great for your mind, body and spirit. I would recommend it to anyone.

  4. I had some treatments a few years ago and remember certain parts of my feet really hurt related to different organs when pressed. I did feel better afterwards though didn’t have a specific illness at the time.

  5. Reflexology can work on many problem. Basically its a method of clearing the energy in nerve bundles, as in the joints. When pressure is applied to the nerve endings at the feet, hands, ears, the impulse created by the pressure is sent to the brain and returns. This electrical impulse causes blocked energy to be released which clears the nerve path. Now the brain can communicate with the impaired muscles, organs, glands etc. If the energy block is too large, reflexology may not work. In this case find a accupuncturist. It may take more than one treatment to clear the energy in the nerves.

  6. Although not from a professional I have some books on the subject and do use it on my own. I find it very helpful for some things not so much for other others. Helpful for headaches and mild pain. Helpful when it comes to getting yourself to relax. I choose to use it in conjunction with other things not on its own. It can encourage healing and relaxation which helps most things.
