  1. You are pretty up close when working with the flowers and would notice fecal matter deposited. I make sure not to side dress with compost around the time of harvest.. The alchohol will kill germs and preserve the blend. You can rinse the plant and flowers the day before harvesting, but you need to remember that this is a homeopathic blend that will be heavily diluted and it is pretty hard to receive any measurable amount of any unwanted organisms. I would never harvest from a sketchy location.

  2. It is best to use a strainer that is cloth, stainless steel, or rattan; plastic and other metal implements would not be recommended.

  3. Is there something else we could use if we didn’t have cheesecloth on hand?

  4. Are the flowers checked for fecal matter before being put into the herbal remedy or cooked? How do you protect against germs and fecal matter?

  5. The Ageless Herbs line contains herb formulas (not homeopathic) and creams with pure essential oils. The flower essences help to reach deeper emotional issues and I have been gathering flowers and making flowers essences to address the emotional level issues for the Five Element Imbalances. After many years of practice, I find that most illnesses are based in emotional/spiriitual imbalances; until these are addressed, it is hard to find true health and wellness.

  6. I was curious about your Chinese herbal formulas. They are not considered homeopathic as well, are they?

Thanks for replying by the way. 🙂

  7. I was kind of with you up until succussing, which indicates that this is a “homeopathic” preparation. I personally do not believe in homeopathy.

I was intrigued by the Chinese herbal formulas you sell on your web site. These are not homeopathic (extremely diluted) preparations as well, are they?

Nothing personal against you, it’s just my own personal belief.

  8. WOW!!! Thank you so much! This is exactly what I was looking for! You’re wonderful!

  9. Thanks for your input! I have heard that suggestion before, but after 2 decades of flower essence preparation I personally have found it largely unpractical.

In any type of energy medicine the practitioner’s energy is going to come in to play. It cannot be overemphasized that the person preparing a flower essence remedy must take time to meditate with the plant being harvested from. Simply throwing some flowers in a bowl of water and putting it in the sun will not produce an effective remedy.

  10. Thanks for the feedback! It’s really not too hard to do, you just have to be in the right place of mind.

  11. Thank you – a good overview. Just one thing I would like to mention: when placing the flowers into the bowl, it is better to use a stalk or twig from the plant of the flower, rather than touching them with your hand. This prevents your own energy from entering the alchemic equation and protects the flower’s energy. When decanting, the flowers can also be picked out again using the same or new stalks from the plant, rather than using cheesecloth to strain (again, protects flower’s energy).
