  1. Most of the really good decks come with books that teach you how to interpret the cards and some different layouts you can use. Some people like to start with a basic Rider-Waite deck, but I personally like getting the nicer decks that have great interpretive artwork on them. If the artist is talented enough and knows what the card is to represent, they can make it so that you can pretty much tell just from the picture the divinatory meaning of the card. My favorite deck is my Celtic Dragon Tarot, but choose whichever one resonates with you the most. Other than that…it just takes lots of practice and learning that the meaning of a card can differ depending on where it is in the layout and in conjunction with the cards around it and learning how to decipher it all like a puzzle.

  2. If you have any belief in them, then you should seek a group of people that does so too and you trust and ask directions from them. If you just want to toy around yeah, google & youtube are your friends, and decks usually come with instructions, or books like The Book of Thoth.

  3. Some decks come with a basic guide, of how to layout the cards, and how to interpret them. However, interpretation of their true meanings comes from your self, and how each card is revealed, and their interactions with each other.

It is best, that you get a deck you like. You do not need a traditional deck, i have a Cthulhu tarot deck hehehe. It serves the same purpose, so long as you have lesser, and major Arcana, it should work fine.

I am quite the novice at it. Though, reading the future, does not offer, set in stone, glimpses of what “will” be. Rather, what may happen. The future, is ever changing, generally, the accuracy of foresight decreases, the further one tries to see.

  4. I’m not trying to ” bash ” you. Because of my own personal experience with the occult,
    please read …

To try to discover the future through ( tarot cards ), palm reading, ouija board, or some
other form of fortunetelling, or to try to control the future through black magic, is witchcraft
or sorcery which violates the first commandment.

Keep in mind that fortunetelling is inherently linked with the practices of the occult.

Sacred Scripture has many condemnations of these activities: In the Old Testament we find,
” A man or a woman, who acts as a medium or fortune-teller shall be put to death by stoning:
they have no one but themselves to blame for their death. ” ( Leviticus 20:27 ),

… and ” Let there not be found among you anyone who immolates his son or daughter in the fire,
nor a fortuneteller, soothsayer, charmer, diviner, or caster of spells, nor one who consults ghosts
and spirits or seeks oracles from the dead. Anyone who does such things is an abomination to the
    Lord.” ( Deuteronomy 18: 10-12 )

In Acts of the Apostles, St. Paul at Philippi encountered a slave girl with a ” clairvoyant spirit “,
who made money by fortunetelling; St. Paul exorcised her of that spirit ( Acts 16:16 ).

In other passages, we find condemnations of sorcery and occult practices in general: St. Paul condemned sorcery ( Gal 5:19 ). In Acts of the Apostles, St. Paul rebuked Elmas, the magician,
calling him ” son of Satan and enemy of all that is right ” ( Acts 13:8 ),

… and St. Peter rebuked Simon Magus, a magician, who wanted to buy the powers of the Holy
Spirit to make himself more powerful ( Acts 8: 9 ).

In the Book of Revelation, ” Jesus ” declared, ” As for the cowards and traitors to the faith,
the depraved and murderers, the fornicators and sorcerers, the idol-worshipers and deceivers
of every sort, their lot is the fiery pool of burning sulfur, the second death” ( Rev 21:8 ).

I pray for peace to be with you in your life, and in eternity.
