Do you believe in “soul mates?” Just wanting thoughts and opinions?

Question by Guenhwyvar: Do you believe in “soul mates?” Just wanting thoughts and opinions?
What do you believe a soul mate is? I know, it’s a very general question, but I’m not looking for an exact answer.
And even if you don’t believe in soul mates, what is your opinion of them and why don’t you?
Is there any Biblical indication of soul mates?

Thanks for sharing, friends. 🙂

To me its just when your souls are universally connected, and you can just talk yo each other through just looking at into others eyes, no words, no nothing, just looking into each others eyes and knowing that person is for you.

“People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that’s what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.

A true soul mate is probably the most important person you’ll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave.

A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life, then introduce you to your spiritual master…”

I agree with what she says, but I think she says it better 🙂

I agree with souldancer – the mirror theory comes from psychology – but in fact I live ostensibly with my “mirror” and I know in fact I’d rather be with souldancers idea of a “soul mate” – someone with whom you see eye to eye – a mirror causes much anxiety and whilst a challenge and highlighting one’s shortcomings – doesn’t create harmony – harmony is when two things coincide – I’d rather have harmony than mutual cancellation which is what happens when a peak meets a trough – matter meets ant-matter – annihilation – so soul mate is someone with whom you automatically get along with and do not have to try and change them to make things easier – as if you have found a “missing piece of yourself”.

I do not know whether their is a biblical reference – but even if there were it would not count for anything anymore than a soul mate in any other literature.

Adam and Eve sound like soul mates; the Bible terms Eve a “help meet;” in the time when that term was written, a help meet was a close trusted friend and companion.

No, I do not believe in “soul mates”. But I believe in “souls” and in “soul friends”.
