Do You BELIEVE in ” KARMA ” ? Why?

Do You BELIEVE in ” KARMA ” ? Why?

Question by VIJAY: Do You BELIEVE in ” KARMA ” ? Why?
Karma is “act, action, performance”
Karma is the concept of “action” or “deed”

Yes I do believe in “Karma”. “You get what you give.” It’s all about your actions and how you treat people. Whatever you do intentionally to others comes back to you in the future. So if you are kind and generous, then good things will happen to you. On the other hand, if you are mean and insensitive to others, then not-so-good things could happen to you.

    No
Because of the curse of amnesia and the lack of knowledge, there is so-called “karma.” Karma can only be overcome and defeated with knowledge. Knowledge is the key to everything. Knowing everything about ourselves, past lives and so forth will set us free.

  9. Gandalf™Aug 27, 2011

I guess I’ve just seen too many horrible things happen to truly good people to put much stock in it. Not to mention all the good breaks that go to jerks.

  10. Chosen1Aug 27, 2011

Sure, I believe in Karma, because it doesn’t matter if I believe in Karma or not. If karma is, it exists regardless of my belief in it. I choose to accept it knowing that.

  11. †忍者Niks [child of Dhamma]Aug 27, 2011

    Yes.

Karma exists, it’s something we see everyday, there’s no doubting it.

  12. LibbyAug 27, 2011

I hope so. I hope people get what they deserve.

  13. Fallen D32Aug 27, 2011

not necessarily but ya if you’re gonna dish it out you better be able to take it

  14. HopelessAug 27, 2011

I think if you are rich and powerful you are exempt from suffering unless it goes on privately in your mind. If you are everyday Jay or Jane, you notice it. But its not someone getting even, its life on lifes terms. Good and bad is so subjective anyway. Technically if I don’t return a library book on time its “bad”, does that mean I am going to burn in hell for it? We make up our own explanations. Most of the time we arent around to see karma on someone anyway. Plus its pointless to walk around avoiding being fair and just. We are human beings for christ sake. of course we are going to f*ck up

  16. loreejadeAug 27, 2011

Yes, I do believe…sometimes, when I am not the human being I feel I’m supposed to be…i.e, being irritable, short tempered or just not taking action when I know I should…..
little things seem to happen to me, like an instant karma of sorts….

  17. lucky♥duckyAug 27, 2011

for sure I believe….that’s the only thing I got left 😉

  18. I have such sights to show youAug 27, 2011

    I dont believe , i see it everyday .
I once put a spell on a teacher that suspend me from the class and the next week , unexplainable bad things started to happen to me , since that day i have been a good witch who is on god side. Karma is a very mysterious thing you see , i see people who think that not having sex because of religious reason is going to make them holy and clean when in reality they could just be bringing bad karma over themselves by repressing our true sexual nature . I guess thats the kind of karma where one ends up frustrated and kind of lonely.

  19. critterriceAug 27, 2011

No. I see many selfish people come out on top and many good people kept down. I absolutely do not believe in karma.
Strength is all that matters. Physical, spiritual, mental, all kinds of strength. You can be nice to people and not let them walk all over you.

  20. wombatAug 27, 2011

I like the idea of karma, i still think if you do good, good can come back to you.

I did more reading on Karma to get more informed about it and found that I did not want to believe it.

From what I learned, the bad things you do in a lifetime, you pay for in your next lifetime….not your current one. So to believe in karma as intended any children who got raped or murdered deserved it from a prior bad act in their past life.

I found that unacceptable, but the way you describe it sounds great!

  21. kana121569Aug 27, 2011

There are many good people out there that are always doing good things for others, but never seem to get their reward. I also see maniacs that never suffer for how they treat others.
I really love the concept of good and bad karma, but I’m not sure if I trust it to the full degree. I want to believe in it, because it just feels good, but I guess I’m a bit pessimistic when I look at the world around me.

  22. laluzimperfectaAug 27, 2011

For every action there is a reaction- the Law of Cause and Effect.

Yes, no matter how you want to name it, this exists. My ex husband was a thief. For years he got away with stealing. Finally he got busted while serving in the military and spent two years in the brig for something a civilian court would’ve slapped him on the hand for. He might have thought it was “overkill”, but I thought it was karma biting his butt.

  23. khardAug 27, 2011

It is an interesting concept, but I do not think there is evidence that supports karma. It is a good mindset to have, though, if it makes you want to do good things.

  24. Patrick DAug 27, 2011

No, I don’t. Because I would have to believe those Buddhist in Burma were wiped out because of the years of Christian persecution and murder they inflict there. And I don’t believe that. I know that God will judge them for their sins.

  25. tokugawa26Aug 27, 2011

yeah and i WATCH MY NAME IS EARL TOO.

  26. ™TootsieAug 27, 2011

Definitely and it’s a basic principal of almost every belief system, from Wicca to Christianity. “Reep what you sow.”
May not reep in this life time but perhaps you will in another.

  27. Mona LisaAug 27, 2011

Yes, I do. And I also believe it is related to the “law of attraction”. This law says you get what you think about. What you think about is mostly how you act, because acting and thinking go together as well.

To take your example, if you are kind and generous, you will have kind and generous thoughts, so you will have kind and generous reactions (from others or from the universe, that depends on how you like to see it). In other words: good things will happen to you. So in a way, “we reap what we sow”.
