  1. Do you know if it’s safe for skin? I’m guessing it matters what kind of herbs are being used. I’m trying to look for something about herb oils for skin, but haven’t found anything yet.

  2. @Shadowp03 drizzle it on grilled bread or meat, use it on a salad…whatever you want to do with it!

  5. the oil itself isn’t boiling. If you have never seen that before then look the next time you deep fry something… the herbs are the only thing in there making it look like its boiling the moisture is boiling out of them. Also olive oil is not a good choice if planning to refrigerate the oil to keep it for some length of time. other oils such as canola don’t congeal in a fridge.

  6. your never supposed to boil oil to be used in a cold application later on. it starts breaking down the molecules the same way it does after reaching the smoke point but not as fast. its best to wait a few days and leave the herbs in it at room temperature. soak the herbs in an acid above PH 7 in order to keep bacteria from growing. if you dont have the time you can just blanch them and run it through a robocoupe and filter it if you don’t like that pesto texture.

  7. I was taught to use a non-metal medium for preparing herbal oil. Especially not teflon. Teflon releases toxins that can kill birds if they are close enough to breath them….
