Dirty Paws and Divine Intervention: New Book from Joan Wester Anderson Challenges Readers to Rethink Their View of ?Angel Dogs?
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) April 09, 2011
One afternoon, New York Times bestselling author Joan Wester Anderson came across the story of a woman who believed she had been protected by an angel dog. An angel dog? Nonsense, thought Anderson. Yet that initially ?ridiculous? idea has turned into Anderson?s latest book, which will be published by Loyola Press this April.
Angelic Tails: True stories of heavenly canine companions is a collection of accounts from ordinary people who believe that God has graced, and even saved, their lives through dogs. Each of the 30 stories challenges readers to rethink their conception of angels, just as Anderson did before she ever considered writing Angelic Tails. Says Anderson, ?Honestly, I had to ask the Holy Spirit for discernment in this matter. I was reluctant to accept the idea that dogs could be angels. In hindsight, I realize that I was putting limits on how God should take action in our world.?
The carefully vetted stories in Angelic Tails prove that many people?a retired Air Force Colonel, an eighteen-year-old girl, a saint from the nineteenth century?readily accept muddy paws and cold noses as one way in which God provides comfort, consolation, and protection in people?s lives.
Recent American Veterinary Medical Association surveys have revealed that nearly half of pet owners consider their pets to be family members, and Trendsspotting?in researching 50,000 daily tweets?discovered that people tweet on their dogs more than on any other ?relative? except for their moms. Then this from Baylor University’s Institute for Studies of Religion: More than half of all adults, including one in five who say they are not religious, believe they have been protected by a guardian angel during their lifetimes. Given Americans? high regard for their pets along with a strong belief in angelic intervention, Anderson?s new book is likely to strike a chord with a significant portion of the population.
As part of their marketing efforts for this book, Loyola Press is offering an autographed copy of Angelic Tails to the first 500 people who purchase the book from the Press?s website, http://www.loyolapress.com/angelic-tails-special-autographed-copies.htm
Joan Wester Anderson has been writing and speaking about angels since 1992. She is the author of the national best seller Where Angels Walk and has written a total of eight books on angels and miracles. Affectionately known as the ?Angel Lady,? she is a frequent guest on radio and television talk shows around the country. Joan and her husband live in Prospect Heights, Illinois.

“The Psyche of Interaction” is a new philosophical book that proves through concrete evidence that the soul actually and absolutely exists.
Included in this amazing new work is a picture of a person’s soul, taken by way of an aura camera. In June of 2000, the author was still trying to find the connection between colors, archetypes, emotions, numbers and the unconscious and conscious intervals. While experimenting with the aura camera and by asking individuals to visualize themselves in a cave, or by the ocean, i.e., Mother archetypal thought concepts of origin, etc.; in order, to see if the color, blue, would show up in their auras.
There she transposed (i.e., mentally just popped into his mind for a nan-o-second), with her nephew Alex, (who was 16 years old at the time); in order to see, (feel), if he was in a cave in his mind. She felt that he was and took the picture. They waited a minute, or so, for it to develop – it’s just regular Kodak film – and, then peeled back the cover. She handed it to him – without really looking at it.
He said, “This isn’t me – it’s you.”
Well, more accurately, it was Alex – with blue in his aura and the author in front of him. Her image was all white, and it was her probably 1/2 an hour to an hour prior to that time when she had her head cocked to one side with the phone on her shoulder, talking to someone. This is mentioned because it is empirical proof of the soul, and the linear – succession of images that we create for this reality. She was literally caught on film, because she had become Alex for a split second, and her energy combined with his to produce the photo. In order, for the aura camera to take your picture, you have to be in front of the camera (she was behind it and the tripod.), and your hands have to be on the 2 sensor boxes, which feed your electrical energy through the computer that the aura camera is hooked up to.)
The author has studied and arranged the data that makes up this composition for over twenty years. In search of a comprehensive structure in which to understand the nature of the paranormal phenomena that she has experienced since she was two years old.

Just days after the Chinese Government has slammed both Google and Hilary Clinton for getting in the way of its rigid censorship laws and warned President Obama against meeting with the Dali Lama, emerging US publisher of geek fiction, Trapdoor Books, announces that its new book The Magician of Lhasa cannot be printed in China because it portrays the 1959 Chinese occupation of Tibet in less than flattering terms.
Chris Matney, Publisher at Trapdoor Books says: ?Although we print our books primarily in the US, local off-shore production for worldwide sales reduces the ecological impact of shipping and is a responsible alternative. But because of the censorship issue, we?ve decided to print The Magician of Lhasa only in the US. It?s an amazing paradox that the book has just been approved for reading in the US prison system, but is considered to be so counter-revolutionary that China won?t touch it.?
The Magician of Lhasa by David Michie describes the flight of a lama and his two novice monks from Tibet in 1959, being pursued by Red Army soldiers and facing treacherous conditions in the Himalaya mountains. Just as Salman Rushdie?s ?Satanic Verses? so enraged the Muslim establishment that a fatwa was declared on him, and Dan Brown?s ?Da Vinci Code? earned him the condemnation of The Vatican, behind its standard ?no comment? exterior the Chinese government seems rattled by the prospects of a popular new novel drawing attention to its own record of human rights abuses in Tibet.
David Michie, best-selling author of the non-fiction book Buddhism for Busy People and a long-term Western Buddhist says: ?The Government in China seems to have learned nothing from its past mistakes. One of the main reasons why they invaded Tibet in 1959 was to crush Tibetan Buddhism, but all they succeeded in doing was successfully exporting it to the West. Their continued persecution of documentary makers, authors and other artists, far from protecting their reputation, is only making it dramatically worse.?
The Magician of Lhasa is available across North America in hardcover, trade paperback and various e-book formats. The book is available on the Trapdoor Books website (http://www.trapdoorbooks.com) or from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other fine retailers.
About The Magician of Lhasa
When novice monk Tenzin Dorje is told by his lama that the Red Army is invading Tibet, his country?s darkest moment paradoxically gives him a sense of purpose like no other. He accepts a mission to carry two ancient, secret texts across the Himalayas to safety. Half a century later, in a paradox of similarly troubling circumstances, Matt Lester is called upon to convey his own particular wisdom as a scientist, when Matt?s nanotech project is mysteriously moved to America after being acquired by the shadowy Acellerate Corporation.
Tenzin and Matt embark on parallel adventures which have spine-chilling connections. Tenzin?s perilous journey through the Himalayas, amid increasing physical hardship and the ever-present horror of Red Army capture, is mirrored by Matt?s contemporary, but no less traumatic challenges, as his passionate relationship with his fianc
