Herbal medicine for anxiety and depression?

Does anyone know of any herbal/over the counter medicine for anxiety (with depression)? I know there is St. John’s Wort but because of my birth control I can’t take that. I’ve also read of “Stressezz and True Calm.” Do those things actually work? I’d rather stay away from prescription medicine since I don’t have health care coverage right now. Thanks.

Herbal Medicine for Anxiety – Four Herbs With Proven Results

Herbs have been used for thousands of years in natural medicine to restore balance to the mind and encouraging normal functioning of all the body systems. With the revival of interest in traditional medicine over the last few decades, research has confirmed the largely anecdotal evidence that has been passed down for centuries. In the research of herbal medicine for anxiety, probably no other herb has been studied as much as St. John’s wort.

St. John’s wort works by stimulating the production of the neurotransmitter serotonin, which helps to re-balance brain function. Current research suggests that serotonin levels in the brain has a large influence over the degree of balanced, positive emotions we feel.

By encouraging the production of serotonin, St. John’s wort can help with emotional stability, stress reduction and an increase in feelings of well-being. Clinical studies of St. John’s wort have shown that this herb can be just as effective as prescription drugs, but without the side effects. This is especially the case for mild to moderate symptoms.

While in the U.S. many conventional doctors are not familiar with herbal medicine and may be reluctant to suggest it, St.John’s wort is so popular in Europe that it outsells many major prescription antidepressants. Fortunately, some conventional doctors are having to educate themselves about herbs because patient demand for a safe, natural alternative to prescription drugs is increasing.

Several other herbs that are effective herbal treatment for anxiety are passionflower, lemon balm and lavender. These herbs excel at providing support for the brain and nervous system. Many herbal formulas use passionflower, lemon balm and lavender to help soothe anxiety, depression, panic, and stress.

I personally use herbal formulas containing these herbs and have found that they provide great symptom relief, plus I no longer have to put up with the side effects from the depression and anxiety prescription meds I was using. Also, no worries about addiction or withdrawal struggles. That alone helps relieve anxiety!

I know from experience how frustrating and disappointing it can be to spend your money on nutritional supplements and herbal remedies that don’t work. It can be tempting to say that natural medicine doesn’t work when it’s likely that cheaply made, inferior quality supplements are the failure.

This is the herbal medicine for anxiety that I’ve personally used for over five years.

These products work and I highly recommend them.

Why Do Christians Believe In Homeopathy Medicine and Astrology?

I mean I see so many religious people who follow horoscopes, take homeopathy medicine and are against childhood vaccinations despite the hundreds of diseases cured from them. Let’s not mention the amount of deaths that have attributed to homeopathic medicines that have no testing and just hearsay.

Why wouldn’t you just take your child to the doctor, rather than just pray when you could be endangering and or killing your child. Why take these extremes that weren’t mentioned in the bible.
