Why do people need to quote Einstein to prove whether he believed in God or not? What about this quote?
Question by grassfell: Why do people need to quote Einstein to prove whether he believed in God or not? What about this quote?
We could say that although Buddhism in not entirely scientific, but it certainly has a strong overtone and is certainly more scientific than any other religion. It is significant that Albert Einstein, the greatest scientist of the twentieth century said of Buddhism:
“The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion. It should transcend a personal God and avoid dogmas and theology. Covering both natural and spiritual, it should be based on a religious sense arising from the experience of all things, natural and spiritual and a meaningful unity. Buddhism answers this description. If there is any religion that would cope with modern scientific needs, it would be Buddhism.”
Answer by Vincent K, disciple of Primus
Great point dude. Let’s see what the dumb ‘argument-from-authority’ brigade say about it.
EDIT: Mastermind, I’ve never bothered to quote a specific evolutionary scientist. And if I did, I’d base it on the fact that numerous scientific discoveries have shown evolution to be correct; that is, base it on their evidence rather than their opinions. Lastly, I won’t bother to purposefully misquote someone just to try and give some non-existent credence to anything. That answer your question? ^_^

Karma. Your Karma profoundly effects your life, past, present and future.
Knowing your Karma Number for 2011 will tell you what the future holds for you.
Love? Career? Success? Health? Family… Friends…
Numerolgically, 2011 is going to be one of the most dramatic periods of change of our generation.
Your Karma number has much to tell you what awaits you and how you can control those changes to your own ends…
As Master Numerologist Blair Gorman explains it: “The Karma number is not really of Western numerology but more a Vedic or Indian invention. You may not relate to the idea of having a karma number if you do not believe in reincarnation however it is an interesting exercise in numerology if you do subscribe to the concept.
“The Karma number is supposed to tell you about the baggage you are carrying over from your last lifetime that is giving you lessons to learning in this lifetime.
In this sense numerology can tell you what types of karma you are carrying over from a previous life. All you need to do is calculate your Karma number.”
Your Karmic number is not calculated in any way that you may have been familiar with so far. It is figured out using fadic addition.
Technically the number is based on a Magic Square that incorporates your birth date numbers and the values.
The shortcut to calculating your Karma number is found by taking the month of your birth day, subtracting 1 and then reducing the number to 1
For instance if your birth day is June 7, 1960 you would take the day of the month of your birth day and subtract 2. You would then reduce the result by fadic addition.
The calculation would be 7-1 = 6.
If the person was born on June 17th you would reduce it like this: 17-1 =16 and 1+7 = 8.
The Karma number values and their meanings are listed below.
Karma Number (0)
If you reduce to a zero then it is possible you are a new soul or
one that has cleared up a lot of karmic debt in your past life.
This current life is one where you get to start again with a clean
Karma Number (1)
The lesson of this karma number is learning to be independent. You
may start off this life by being very dependent on others, with the
life lesson being that you need to stand on your own two feet. This
might manifest as spending most of your life single or being very
successful but alone.
Karma Number (2)
The karma of this life has to do with learning how to get along
with others. You may have taken advantage of others in your past
life and now it is payback time. You may find yourself saddled with
the responsibility of taking care of someone who is dependent on
you. You may also have to learn to be less skeptical and how to
trust your intuition…
Karma Number (3)
You may have been frivolous, wasteful and guilty of not taking
things seriously enough. You may have also taken credit for someone
else’s accomplishment or cheated to get to the top somehow. Your
lesson in this life is to be balanced, serious and responsible.
Karma Number (4)
You may have been lazy in your past life so in this life you will
be asked to fulfill your potential. You may have to work harder
than most people just to make a living. Your karma requires you to
be persistent; great riches are possible if you keep doing the
right thing without complaint.
Karma Number (5)
You may have been an addict, wasteful or sexually over active in
your last lifetime. Your lesson in this lifetime will be symbolized
by situations that necessitate that you work hard and make
sacrifices so you can get ahead later. You may also be dealing with
health crisises that force you to stay on the straight and narrow.
Karma Number (6)
You are dealing with the karma of betraying or abandoning your
family in a past lifetime. In this lifetime you may find yourself
in the position of having to care for your family or take care of
someone who is ill. You may also find it hard to strike out on your
own and leave the family nest.
Karma Number (7)
You are dealing with the karma of failing to pay attention to the
spiritual side of your life. You may have been too focused on money
in your past life so in this life it may be more challenging for
you to make money. You may be dealing with an illness or chronic
problem that also tests your faith.
Karma Number (8)
You may have been in a position of power and abused it somehow in
your past life. It is also possible you may have exploited others
for financial gain. In this life you are doomed to be a follower.
You will probably have to get by in this lifetime with less money
than most and you will likely have to work hard to get ahead in
Karma Number (9)
You are dealing with the karma of avoiding assisting or loving
other people in a past life. Your lesson in this lifetime is to
learn to be kind, compassionate and help others. You will probably
start this life with great personal needs of your own, and will
only progress in life once you learn how to be a teacher or a
philanthropist in your own life.
As you can see this is not the usual way that numbers are
calculated but it is interesting as the interpretations are
practically the opposite of what we would normally associate with
these particular number values.

Question by edgar g: Is this a good topic for my research paper?
“what are the fundamental ideas to buddhism?”
is it good or no?
i need your help.
Answer by Elbie
I think this is an excellent topic for your research paper…however, I wouldn’t leave the title in question form, rather make it “The Fundamental Ideas to Buddhism.” There is a lot of information on this topic so you shouldn’t have any problems researching it. Good luck and cool topic.

Question by Father Guido: How can Theists continue claiming Albert Einstein as their own when the man said this?
“The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion. It should transcend personal God and avoid dogma and theology. Covering both the natural and the spiritual, it should be based on a religious sense arising from the experience of all things natural and spiritual as a meaningful unity. Buddhism answers this description. If there is any religion that could cope with modern scientific needs it would be Buddhism.”
“I cannot conceive of a God who rewards and punishes his creatures, or has a will of the kind that we experience in ourselves. Neither can I nor would I want to conceive of an individual that survives his physical death; let feeble souls, from fear or absurd egoism, cherish such thoughts. I am satisfied with the mystery of the eternity of life and with the awareness and a glimpse of the marvelous structure of the existing world, together with the devoted striving to comprehend a portion, be it ever so tiny, of the Reason that manifests itself in nature.”
misty0408, you are not only a liar, but a very bad speller.
Answer by Yoda Green
Yet they continually use this quote of his “god does not play dice with the universe” and of course they have NO idea what he was talking about.
You see, he knew full well that most people wouldn’t understand his theories, so he “Dumbed them down” as much as he could.
This was just an example of that.

Healing karma issues can be a major thing to have done in your life. We have this current life’s karma issues as well as any previous lifetime’s issues and even our ancestral line’s issues. That is a lot of karma!
First and foremost, this lifetime’s karma issues need to be attended to. This can be done with an energy healing, either from your guides, angels, your own personal energy work or done by another practitioner.
We create and make our own karma and draw into our life our own pathway and decision process. This is why our current lifetime needs to be addressed before our previous ones or ancestral lines.
When we enter this world, we have a clean slate from this lifetime, even though we have our previous lifetime’s to deal with, we have a clean slate for this time around. Even starting as a small child we start creating issues, situations and circumstances that unfold in our lives with our karma residue.
This can lead us into many pathways and experiences depending on our choices.
For example, let’s imagine you went to purchase something at a small business and you got what you wanted. The business owner has a kind heart and offers to give you some more things you want and you promise to come back on a certain day and pay for them. If you do go back, then you create more positive karma circumstances unfolding into your life path. If you do not go back, and have thoughts of how you just got away with some free things and give no second thoughts of your promise, then this will unfold negative karma circumstances in your life path.
Our karma has been building in this life for as long as we have been on this planet. We may not remember all of the things we did to create and unfold our life in front of us, but the Universe and Spirit does.
So how do we fix this and move forward? Heal your karma issues! You can do this with your own energy work, asking from help from your guides or angels, or having another practitioner work on your karma issues on an energetic level.
Once you heal this lifetime’s karma issues, try your best to make the most positive and honest decisions from here on out.
Then start working on your past lifetime karma issues by working with your akashic records and past life healing. Once you have cleared up your own karma issues from this lifetime and past ones, then start to tackle your ancestral line with karmic matrix removal sessions. These can all bring about wonderful changes to speed things up and move forward in your life!
There are also non-energy ways to heal your karma with making amends with your past issues. If you have made bad decisions and choices, turn them around and fix them if you can. Apologize to those who you have offended in however manner you can, offer to correct the issues that were wrong if at all possible, forgive yourself and others that were involved in this circumstance and decide to make better decisions in the future. You can always work forward from here on in, but cannot go back, so make the most of your decisions you have!

I am asking this question to all those who practice “meditation” & also those who are spiritually inclined.
Question by shankd67: I am asking this question to all those who practice “meditation” & also those who are spiritually inclined.
I have some problem doing meditation in the seated posture on the ground…padmasana or ardha padmasana because it hurts my lower back somewhat & also I have slight pain in the right upper thigh. So can I do meditation sitting on a chair …I have been shown a posture how to do it. ?? As long as I keep my back straight & I am being able to concentrate I hope its OK. What (object or whatever) do u people concentrate on while doing meditation & also do u keep ur eyes open or slightly closed ? I am asking the slightly advanced people in meditation.
Answer by tawaen
I actually lie down and close my eyes for meditation. I concentrate on my breathing pattern, usually.
But if I feel the need, I can use a candle as my focus. I generally don’t bother because it sets off the fire alarm in my house…
