  • “Recurring” dream, what does it mean?

Question by Ello G: “Recurring” dream, what does it mean?
It’ll happen when I’m in a limbo between being awake and asleep (I think). This is it:

I see nothing, I feel nothing, I am nothing. It’s all space. All I can feel is the presence of complete and total evil. Eventually, after I realize I’m “dreaming” (I’m not really sure what it is), something like a roaring or some kind of demonic voice echoes through my head. The only way I know how to get out of it is by rolling my eyes back. For some reason, it gets me out of it and awake.

It’s been coming back for years, but only randomly. Sometimes it won’t go for months, sometimes I’ll get it once a month. It doesn’t make sense to me.

    Any ideas?

  • How did “country dweller” (“pagan”) come to mean “non-christian”?

Question by Crazy Pirate (((zilla))): How did “country dweller” (“pagan”) come to mean “non-christian”?
Is it just that christianity was the new, hip, city-slicker religion? or something more insidious?

When you indoctrinate an area, you start with the population centers. The country dwellers are a lower priority, and thus get indoctrinated last.

  • What does “Catholic-Pagan” mean?

Question by ESL: What does “Catholic-Pagan” mean?
    II’m reading a history of Bolivia… and it says…

“Cotacawana. It’s a place near the lake. When the Spaniards came they took advantage of it. Since then the Catholic faith is Catholic-Pagan. It still maintains the native traditions”

    What does “Catholic-Pagan” mean?

Is it “Catholic is taken as Pagan” OR
“there are Catholic AND native traditions(as pegan) “?

    Please help me with this?

have heard scraps about it, but apparently it takes in Mary as a goddess figure, Jesus/God/Holy Ghost as god figure, and Saints as minor deities.

There are people who honor the divine presence everywhere, since God is omnipotent, and consider themselves Catholics, like Mathew Fox/Creation Spirituality. Also, Catholic doctrine holds that the Holy Spirit is sevenfold, including Wisdom.

Also, some Wiccans believe the diety itself is basically BEYOND the God and Goddess, Lord and Lady, and that the Lord and Lady and various spirits are not the One transcendent Diety, but that the Lord and Lady are two aspects of that one, all together forming three divine principles. As such, some honor Sophia as the Holy Spirit or honor the Holy Sirit as a female aspect of diety. Jesus then is still the Son. The Father can be seen as transcending sex, a Prior Source.

Many Protestants seem to think that praying to anyone but God is idolatry, and seem to identify prayer to saints with praying to gods, and worship, etc. But so long as one places emphasis on the One beyond all, we talk to people and don’t consider it prayer, we respect our friends and don’t consider that worship or idolatry.

It’s a hippie-induced imaginary “cloud” around each person that reflects their innermost traits & personality. Anyone who claims to be able to actually see them took way too much LSD in the 60’s and 70’s.
