The kings they came from out the south, All dressed in ermine fine; They bore Him gold and chrysoprase, And gifts of precious wine. The shepherds came from out the north, Their coats were brown and old; They brought Him little new-born lambs– They had not any gold. The wise men came from out the east, And they were wrapped in white; The star that led them all the way Did glorify the night. The angels came from heaven high, And they were clad with wings; And lo, they brought a joyful song The host of heaven sings. The kings they knocked upon the door, The wise men entered in, The shepherds followed after them To hear the song begin. The angels sang through all the night Until the rising sun, But little Jesus fell asleep Before the song was done. Read by Jean Aked
Question by blue sky dreamer: Is it good to meditate with yoga, nature music or any kind of meditation music in the background?
I just started basic meditation with a little useful readings on yoga & meditation online.. I also downloaded some nice nature & meditation music. But I’m wondering is it better to just do your meditation in a silent room with no music in the background.
Answer by Polish
it all depends on you. if music is playing while you are meditating, you may focus on the music instead of meditation. some music is to fast. but ultimately one should be able to meditate with a million and one distractions going on in the background and not paying them any attention

Transcription to follow: I’m Melanie Dreher; I’m dean of nursing at Rush University Medical Center. I’m a nurse and I’m an anthropologist. My first exposure to cannabis as medicine was working in Jamaica. And where it is known as the king of herbs. One of the consistent ingredients in most of the preparations they gave to their patients was cannabis. And subsequent to that, my major professor at Columbia University was funded by the National Institute of Drug Abuse, to do a regular study of Cannabis in Jamaica, marijuana in Jamaica. Mainly in response to all the research that was going on looking at the immediate effects of marijuana, this is in the late ’60s early ’70s. And people were concerned about the acute effects, what happens when you smoke. Does it affect your driving, your thinking, your coordination or whatever? And no one had really looked at what happens to people when they smoke consistently every day for a long period of time, what was the health impact of that. So he was funded to do that, I was a graduate student, and he said “you had such a great summer in Jamaica last year working on this other project would you come and be the main ethnographer for this part of the project”. I’ve been involved in several projects, that project which was perhaps the most famous project coming out of Jamaica, is a study of … Video Rating: 4 / 5
