Wooden Pants Hanger
I have always had a problem reading recipes lying on the counter! Being badly far sighted and tall I have to bend over to read them to get close enough which make a quick glance frustrating when I am on a roll with a recipe. A friend gave me this simple tip and it has made this so much easier for me.
Open the hanger and insert recipe card or page then hang it on a cupboard knob or handle. For some reason I had the wooden one in my closet forever…just the one! I now know why I hung on to it. The plastic style below is more common in modern times and should work just as well.
The wooden style is sturdy enough to hold a paperback recipe book if it’s not too thick. If you don’t have one, they might be found at second hand shops or perhaps in a grandfather’s closet.
It is now easily viewed at eye level and is out of range for flying flour and splashes. I put a cup hook on the inside of a cupboard on the back wall and that is now where it lives handy and ready for my baking and cooking action!
